How to Make a Glass Terrarium – DIY Succulent Dish Garden
This may be my new obsession and will quickly become my favorite gift to give! How many of us "kill" plants because they are just too much work? Too much water. Not enough water. Left in the cold. Left in the heat. Well, you can never go wrong with these little succulents – which are easy to maintain and require very little care. Just spritz with a water bottle to keep moist and done!
Materials for this cost under $20!
Materials:
Any Glass Container (round, square, globe)
Ceramic Planter for base (some examples)
Potting Soil
River Rocks
Succulent Plants (I found mine at Home Depot for under $2.50 each!)
Twine or ribbon for decoration
Step 1: Glue your Glass Bowl to your planter base. Then, add some River Rocks for drainage.
Step 2: Spoon in a layer of potting soil then add your Succulent Plants. Make sure to pack them in, but not too firm. They need to 'breathe'.
Step 3: Follow up with another layer of river rocks, add a ribbon or twine, and DONE!!!
These little open terrariums are perfect for sun loving plants that prefer a dry environment – like these little succulents!
This literally took me about 12 minutes to make!! I'm seriously going to be addicted now!!
Use a spray bottle to keep the plants dirt moist, but NOT over saturated.
Now, if only I can shrink and turn myself into a little fairy, I'd live in this little glass globe! So cute!
Have fun!! Post pics if you make one!
